Google Achieved Quantum Supremacy
Google has claimed that they have achieved quantum supremacy as per the article published in Nature. Its quite known that the said article was accidentally published early. Now, it’s official and that means complete details of the research are in public domain and scientific community can scrutinize the Google's claim.
In computers, the unit of information is a "bit" and bearing value of either 1 or 0. But in a quantum system - the qubit (quantum bit) - it can be both 1 and 0 at simultaneously.
This findings will open the new door for various calculations to be performed at same time. But the qubits need to be synchronized by synthesizing with entanglement (quantum effect ), which Einstein termed as "spooky action at a distance".
However, scientists are not been able to build working devices with qubits to make them competitive with conventional computer.
Dario Gil, director of IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, New York, Dario Gil, stated that
“Quantum computers are not ‘supreme’ against classical computers because of a laboratory experiment designed to essentially … implement one very specific quantum sampling procedure with no practical applications,”Sooner or later quantum supremacy will change the world and opens the new doors of horizon.
